Texture styling tutorial. Time lapse.

Have you ever wondered how to create soft undone texture? This style is the hottest trend around, and isn’t going away any time soon!

The secret is the right mix of products for your hair type, and making sure it’s not too perfect. This really is one of the most simple styles out there. With a little practice and patience you will master it!

The products I used are in order from first to last.

Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam: this product adds shine and just the right amount of hold and volume.

Aveda Texture Tonic: this spray has sugar and salt in it to create a perfect undone sexy texture without drying you hair or making it sticky or crunchy.

Aveda Aircontrol Hairspray: almost every style requires a little set to last. This light hold hairspray is the best multifunctional spray for lasting hold without the stiffness.

These three products are my most loved and reached for tools in my stylist kit. They are great for a variety of hair types and styles.

Plus Aveda is always cruelty free and that is something I can always stand behind.

You can of course purchase Aveda products at our beautiful salon, located in Livonia, Michigan.

For this look I used a standard 1 inch spring clamp curling iron. Section the hair from front to back. Apply Phomollient. Start the curl toward the top of the hair taking medium sections. Alternate the direction of the curl with every new section. This is a very quick motion. You don’t want to curl the entire section of hair from top to bottom, you only want to create texture. Once you have curled the entire head spray Texture Tonic in your hands, rub together and scrunch into the hair. Finish with Aircontrol Hairspray.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments! I would love to see your feedback!
